Love the effect of softboxes but hate the construction and setup time? Our new line of foldable softboxes and octaboxes give you the quality of light that you love with simple and quick umbrella-like construction. Each softbox and octabox arrives with the speedring and frame poles already attached - to form the box, you will simply slide and lock the poles into place, then attach your front diffusion panel.

Our softboxes and octaboxes provide a soft, diffused output that evenly covers your subject with a gorgeous wash of light. We offer three rectangular softboxes, a narrow rectangular stripbox and two octagonal softboxes ("octaboxes") in various sizes depending on your subject and coverage needs. The octaboxes differ from the softboxes only in shape, as the octagonal shape delivers a more rounded throw, producing a round catch light.

The new design saves you time in your studio while the simple setup allows you to take your softboxes and octaboxes on location as well!

Each foldable box is crafted with an opaque black exterior shell having a recessed front lip where the translucent white diffusion panel attaches. This recessed lip helps minimize lens flare and is additionally designed to hold a grid (grids sold separately below, available for each foldable softbox, octabox and stripbox). 

 The inside walls of the boxes have a highly-reflective silver lining to bounce the light before it is diffused through the front diffusion panel for a soft, even spread of light. Each box additionally arrives with a second internal baffle for double-diffusion. This optional internal diffusion panel attaches inside the boxes to create even softer results.

 The foldable softbox grid is used to control light spill and can be particularly helpful in tight shooting environments.  The soft light quality of the boxes remains, but the grids allow you to have more directional control over the output by tightening the beam spread to 40º.  The fabric grids have velcro edging, allowing them to attach to the front outer lip of the exterior black shell of the foldable softbox / octabox.  The velcro inside the outer lip of this exterior shell is a wide strip that accommodates attachment of both the front diffusion panel and the grid.
