The VCA Vagabond Battery
Charger Car Adapter
The
VCA Vagabond Battery Charger Car Adapter allows you to recharge your Vagabond
Battery (B15A) from your car’s battery.
The VCA is a DC/AC adaptor that plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter
outlet. You can plug your Vagabond
Battery Charger (VBC) into the three-prong outlet on the VCA, and allow your
Vagabond Battery to charge from your car’s battery. The VCA is used solely to charge the Vagabond
Battery from your car, through the Vagabond Battery Charger. The VCA may not be used to power your flash
unit(s) directly.
Charging your Vagabond
Battery with the VCA:
To
charge your Vagabond Battery with the VBC Battery Charger and the VCA Car
Adapter, turn your Vagabond Portable Power System OFF, and follow these steps:
1. First, insert
the VCA Vagabond Battery Charger Car Adapter into your car’s cigarette lighter
outlet. Make sure that it fits snugly
into the outlet. If the fit is loose,
remove the Car Adapter from the outlet, and slide the adjuster to the “L”
position. In the “L” position, the two
side spring sheets will expand. Now plug
the adaptor back into the lighter outlet, and ensure that the fit is tight. It may be necessary with some vehicles to
turn the ignition switch to the “accessory” position to apply power to the
cigarette lighter outlet or accessory outlet.
The Green Power Indicator Light on the top of the VCA will illuminate
when the contact is secure, and power is applied.
2. Next, locate
the VBC Vagabond Battery Charger and its AC Power Cord in the front flap pocket
of your Vagabond Carrying Bag. Plug the
VBC Charger’s AC Power Cord into the two-pin appliance receptacle at the end of
the VBC housing.
3. Plug the VBC
Vagabond Battery Charger into the AC outlet on the VCA Car Adapter. This will begin charging your battery. Using the Vagabond Battery Charger with the
VCA Car Adapter will recharge your battery normally, as described in your
Vagabond Owner’s Operation Manual.
