The UltraZAP UZ800 Flash Unit

The UltraZAP UZ800 is a self-contained studio flash unit, producing 330 true wattseconds and 800 effective wattseconds of power, with 14,000 lumenseconds of output. The flashpower is independently adjustable over a stepless 5 f-stop range from Full down to 1/32nd of the total power, in whole f-stop increments, and everywhere in between. This flashpower is easily adjusted on the back control panel, with a slide fader.

The UZ800 offers improved axial-flow thermodynamics, resulting in higher capability, less heat build-up, and increased overall durability. For ease of operation, the UZ800 has a built-in slave tripper to allow wireless firing, where the unit will fire whenever it “sees” a flash from another source. With its lightweight design, fast recycle and fast flash duration, the UZ800 unit is ideal for the versatile needs of a professional, whether working in a studio or on location.

With precision voltage regulated circuits supplying consistent output, the UZ800 offers “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” modeling lamp accuracy. The modeling lamp can be set to full brightness, turned completely off, or independently adjusted over the same range as the flashpower to track the power changes, with its own rear panel slide fader. Furthermore, the 150 watt modeling lamp may be used as a recycle indicator, dimming as the unit recycles, and coming back on to let you know when the unit is fully recycled.

The UZ800 is indestructible, housed in high impact aircraft-grade aluminum, with molded polycarbonate rear bezels, and rounded corners for ease and safety. The unit is fit for travel, and fully-versatile with our full line of accessories, mounting easily with our stand bracket, accessory quick-release and umbrella hole. The UZ800 can be remote-controlled with our Wired or RadioRemote, and powered on location, anywhere in the world with our Vagabond Portable Power System.
